Sister Mary Martha Quinn, IHM, of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary died on Friday, October 9, 1953, at St. Agnes Place in Elmhurst, PA.
She was born on January 29, 1866 in Pittston, PA, and given the name Mary. She was the daughter of the late Michael and Mary Merrick Quinn. She entered the IHM Congregation on October 13, 1886, received the religious habit on March 1, 1887, and made profession of her vows on August 2, 1889.
Sister Mary Martha served as a teacher at the following schools: St. Patrick School in Olyphant, PA; Immaculate Conception School in Lock Haven, PA; Marywood Seminary in Scranton, PA; and St. Mary-John School in Cresson, PA.
She is survived by two nieces, Mrs. William Schuman and Jean Mangan, both of Port Griffith, PA.
The funeral will be Monday, October 12, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Catherine’s Church in Moscow. Interment will follow at St. Catherine’s Cemetery, Moscow, PA. Friends may call on Sunday at St. Agnes Place in Elmhurst.
