What personal data we collect and why we collect it
Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help with spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Please be aware that if you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

You may be asked to voluntarily provide personal and financial information to access some features of the site, or to make purchases or donations. Please be advised that any purchases or donations will be processed through a third-party service provider and will only be used for purposes necessary to process the purchase or donation and are subject to the requirements of the provider.
Contact Forms
If you fill out a contact form on our site, the information you provide is stored only for the purpose of replying to your submission and not for any other purpose.
We do not request or require sensitive personal data.
Log Files
Just as when you visit and interact with most websites and services delivered via the Internet, when you visit our website, we gather certain information and store it in log files. This information may include but is not limited to internet protocol (IP) addresses, system configuration information, URLs of referring pages and locale and language preferences.
When you use this site several actions (e.g. commenting, submitting a form) trigger the dispatch of emails. They contain information about you associated with your email address. Which data are part of these emails depends on the action performed. These emails are stored and accessible to the site management as a log.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
API Keys
We make use of certain APIs, in order to provide specific features. These APIs may include third-party services such as: Google Maps (API key)
Who we share your data with
If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.
We may pass your information to third-party service providers who we have engaged for the purpose of completing tasks and providing services to you on our behalf (for example, we may provide your contact details to a payment processor to enable your online donation or purchase). We disclose only the personal information that is necessary to deliver the service.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
If you fill out a form, the information will be retained indefinitely for analytics purposes.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
