Sister M. Victorian Roche, IHM, of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary died on Thursday, February 1, 1923, at Mount St. Mary’s Seminary in Scranton, PA.
She was born on September 6, 1890 in Scranton, PA, and given the name Anna. She was the daughter of John and Bridget Cowley Roche. She entered the IHM Congregation on March 25, 1917, received the religious habit on August 2, 1917, and made profession of her vows on August 2, 1919.
Sister Victorian served as a teacher at St. Joseph’s School in Danville, PA.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by a sister, Mary Kennedy; four brothers, Matthew Joseph, Francis Joseph, John M., Jr. and Patrick Joseph; nieces and a nephew.
The funeral will be Saturday, February 3, at 9:30 a.m. with a solemn high mass of requiem in the chapel at Mount St. Mary’s Seminary. Interment will follow at the Marywood College Cemetery, on the grounds of Marywood College in Scranton, PA.
