Sister M. Colette O’Connor, IHM

Sister M. Colette O’Connor, IHM, of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary died on Monday, April 2, 1923, at St. Rose’s Convent in Carbondale, PA.
She was born on October 4, 1865 in Archbald, PA, and given the name Elizabeth. She was the daughter of the late Timothy and Mary Caviston O’Connor. She entered the IHM Congregation on September 1, 1885, received the religious habit on June 1, 1886, and made profession of her vows on July 12, 1888.
Sister Colette served as a teacher St. Patrick School in Scranton, PA; and Holy Rosary School in Scranton, PA.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Bridget O’Connor.
She is survived by five sisters, Maria Grogan of Archbald, PA, Margaret Quinnan of Saginaw, MI, Catherine O’Connor of Brooklyn, NY, and Alice and Sarah O’Connor both of Archbald, PA, nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be Wednesday, April 4, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Rose’s Church in Carbondale, PA. Interment will follow at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery in Carbondale, PA.
