Sister M. Mark Fitzpatrick, IHM

Sister M. Mark Fitzpatrick, IHM, of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary died on Saturday, October 20, 1945, at St. Agnes Place in Elmhurst, PA.
She was born on August 22, 1869 in Scranton, PA, and given the name Elizabeth. She was the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Armour Fitzpatrick. She entered the IHM Congregation on September 24, 1901, received the religious habit on April 1, 1902, and made profession of her vows on August 2, 1904.
Sister Mark served as a teacher at the following schools: Mount Saint Mary’s Seminary in Scranton, PA; St. Patrick High School in Olyphant, PA; St. Rose High School in Carbondale, PA; and St. John School in Susquehanna, PA.
Sister served as principal and superior at St. Mary of the Assumption Elementary School in Upper Marlboro, MD.
From 1943 until the time of her death, Sister Mark served as a prayer minister at St. Agnes Place in Elmhurst.
She is survived by a sister, Kathryn Kirby of Scranton, PA.
The funeral will be Tuesay, October 23 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Catheriner’s Church, Moscow, PA. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery at St. Catherine’s Cemetery, Moscow. Friends may call on Monday at St. Agnes Place in Elmhurst.
