Sister Miriam Joseph Reinhardt, with a vision for enhancing the natural beauty and ecological harmony of Our Lady of Peace Residence, decided to purchase a Bush Cherry Tree to be planted in the courtyard. Knowing that the tree’s vibrant berries would
serve as a delightful feast for local birds, Sister Miriam Joseph saw it as a way to nurture the surrounding wildlife. Adding a personal touch, the tree was sourced from Sister Miriam Joseph’s grandniece, who works selling trees. The ongoing care of the Bush Cherry Tree will be entrusted to the capable hands of Sister Lenore Thomas, ensuring its health and longevity. On Earth Day, Sister Donna Korba and Jan Novotka led a special prayer service, culminating in a heartfelt blessing of the newly planted tree, with the entire congregation raising their hands in a gesture of goodwill and hope.
