Sister M. Louise Pellow, IHM, of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary died on Thursday, August 24, 1967, at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA.
She was born on August 26, 1933 in Syracuse, NY, and given the name Mary Louise. She was daughter of the Louis E. and Mary Lennon Pellow. She entered the IHM Congregation on September 8, 1950, received the religious habit on August 2, 1951, and made profession of her vows on August 2, 1953.
Sister Louise served as a teacher at the following schools: St. Ephrem Elementary School in Brooklyn, NY, from 1953 to 1956; St. Edward Elementary School in Twin Falls, ID, from 1956 to 1961; and Pocono Centeral Catholic Elementary School in Cresco, from 1961 to 1966.
From 1966 untl the time of her death, Sister Louise was a prayer minister at the Marian Convent in Scranton.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by a brother, Louis (Bud) M., Jr. of Syracuse, NY; a sister, Donna M. Gunson of Cranston, RI; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be Monday, August 28, at 9:30 a.m. with a solemn high requiem mass at the Marian Convent. Interment will follow at St. Catherine’s Cemetery in Moscow, PA. Friends may call on Sunday afternoon or evening at the Marian Convent.
