Sister Maria Annette Naab, IHM

Sister Maria Annette Naab, IHM, of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary died on Thursday, November 27, 1947, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Carbondale, PA.
She was born on March 28, 1885 in Brooklyn, NY, and given the name Mary Caroline. She was the daughter of the late Augustine G. and Margaret (Margaretha) Kraus Naab. She entered the IHM Congregation on August 15, 1910, received the religious habit on August 2, 1911, and made profession of her vows on August 2, 1913.
Sister Maria Annette served as a teacher at the following schools: St. Patrick School in Scranton, PA; St. Ephrem School in Brooklyn, NY; Our Lady Queen of Martyrs School in Forest Hills, NY; and St. Mary’s School in Manhasset, NY.
Sister also served as superior at St. Joseph’s Children’s and Maternity Hospital in Scranton, PA.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Philomena and Margaret Naab, and a brother, Reverend John F. Naab.
She is survived by two sisters, Anna Naab of Richmond Hill, NY, and Elizabeth McTigue of Islip, NY.
The funeral will be Saturday, November 29, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Catherine’s Church in Moscow, PA. Interment will follow at St. Catherine’s Cemetery in Moscow.
