Sister M. Ursula Hickey, IHM

Sister M. Ursula Hickey, IHM, of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary died on Sunday, January 10, 1932, at St. Joseph’s Foundling Home in Scranton, PA.
She was born on January 20, 1855 in New York City, NY, and given the name Ellen. She was the daughter of the late Edward and Mary Brennan Hickey. She entered the IHM Congregation on November 21, 1883, received the religious habit on April 14, 1884, and made profession of her vows on August 10, 1886.
Sister Ursula served as an art teacher at St. Cecilia’s Academy in Scranton, PA. She also served as a sacristan at St. Peter’s Cathedral in Scranton, PA.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Sister M. Pius, IHM.
The funeral will be Tuesday, January 12 at 9:30 a.m. in the chapel at Marywood College in Scranton, followed by interment at St. Catherine’s Cemetery in Moscow, PA.
