Sister M. St. John McAndrew, IHM, of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary died on Friday, December 3, 1926, at St. Agnes Hospital in Philadelphia, PA.
She was born September 29, 1887 in Scranton, PA, and given the name Estella. She was the daughter of Mary Grant McAndrew and the late Anthony J. McAndrew. She entered the IHM Congregation on September 8, 1922, received the religious habit on December 28, 1922, and made profession of her vows on December 29, 1924.
Sister St. John served as a teacher at St. Rosalia School in Pittsburgh, PA.
She was preceded in death by an uncle, Reverend John Grant.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by a sister, Loretta Dorsey, a niece and a nephew, all of Scranton, PA.
The funeral will be Monday, December 6, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Rose Church in Carbondale, PA. Interment will follow at Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery in Greenfield Township, PA.
