Sister M. Rosalind Doyle, IHM

Sister M. Rosalind Doyle, IHM, of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary died on Wednesday, November 2, 1994, at the Marian Convent in Scranton, PA.
She was born on December 21, 1911 in Pittsburgh, PA, and given the name Alice Bernadette. She was the daughter of the late Leo M. and Elizabeth V. Shafford Doyle, and the step-daughter of Marie E. Wall Doyle. She entered the IHM Congregation on February 2, 1933, made first profession of her vows on August 8, 1935, and final profession of her vows on August 2, 1938.
Sister Rosalind served as a teacher at the following schools: St. Matthew Elementary School in East Stroudsburg, PA; St. Michael’s School for Boys in Hoban Heights, PA; St. Joseph Elementary School in Williamsport, PA; St. Bernard Elementary School in Hastings, PA; Holy Angels Elementary School in Hayes, PA; St. Mary Elementary School in Goldsboro, MD; St. Ann Elementary School in Devon, CT; St. Mary John School in Cresson, PA; as well as at elementary schools located in Washington, NC.
Sister also served as a parish minister and prayer minister in Pittsburgh, PA.
From 1981 until the time of her death, Sister Rosalind served as a prayer minister at the Marian Convent.
She is preceded in death by five brothers, Robert, Leo M.(infant), Leo M., Jr., John and James; and three sisters, Dorothy Dougherty, Loretta Doyle, and Mary Catherine Lewis.
She is survived by two sisters, Elizabeth Craig and Clare Bayer, both of Pittsburgh, PA; as well as several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be Monday, November 7 at 10:00 a.m. with Mass of Christian Burial at the Marian Convent, followed by interment at St. Catherine’s Cemetery, Moscow, PA. Friends may call on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Marian Convent.
