Sister M. Romula Lloyd, IHM

Sister M. Romula Lloyd, IHM, of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary died on Friday, September 30, 1938, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Carbondale, PA.
She was born on February 2, 1902 in Ashley, PA, and given the name of Mildred Florence. She was the daughter of Robert and Louisa Conrad Lloyd. She entered the IHM Congregation on February 1, 1925, received the religious habit on August 15, 1925, and made profession of her vows on August 15, 1927.
Sister Romula served as a teacher at St. Joseph School in Williamsport, PA, and Sacred Heart School in La Plata, MD. She also taught at schools located on Long Island, NY.
In addition to her parents, she is also survived by three sisters, Viola Williams of Wilkes-Barre, PA, and Gertrude Doran and Margaret Kearns, and brother, Harry, all of Ashley, PA..
The funeral will be Monday, October 3, at 9:30 a.m., with a high Mass of requiem to be celebrated by Reverend Bernard, C.P., at St. Agnes Place in Elmhurst, PA. Interment will follow at St. Catherine’s Cemetery, Moscow, PA.
