Sister M. Mildred O’Toole, IHM
July 8, 1893 – September 4, 1976

Sister M. Mildred O’Toole, IHM, of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary died on Saturday, September 4, 1976, at Mercy Hospital in Scranton, PA.
She was born on July 8, 1893, in Pittsburgh, PA, and given the name Margaret Mildred. She was the daughter of the late Martin W. and Anna Cunningham O’Toole. She entered the IHM Congregation on February 2, 1932, made first profession of her vows on August 2, 1934, and made final profession of her vows on August 2, 1937.
Sister Mildred served as a teacher in the following schools: Most Holy Rosary Elementary School in Syracuse, NY; St. Joseph Elementary School in Williamsport, PA; St. Alphonsus Elementary School in New York, NY; St. Charles Borromeo Elementary School in Sugar Notch, PA; and Monsignor McHugh Elementary School in Cresco, PA.
From 1970 until the time of her death, Sister Mildred served as a prayer minister at the Marian Convent.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Bertha (infant), and a brother, William E.
She is survived by two sisters, Sister Maria Aquina, IHM of Avoca, PA, and Katheryn Horan of North Hollywood, CA; a brother, John F. “Ollie” and a sister-in-law, Mildred, of North Hollywood, CA; and nieces.
The funeral will be Tuesday, September 7, at 9:30 a.m. at the Marian Convent, followed by interment at St. Catherine’s Cemetery in Moscow, PA. Friends may call on Sunday after 4:00 p.m. at the Marian Convent.
