Sister M. Michael Colligan, IHM, of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary died on Tuesday, January 5, 1937.
She was born on June 12, 1856 in Scotland, and given the name Catharine (Katie). She was the daughter of the late Patrick and Ann Barry Colligan. In 1866, the family immigrated to the United States, and settled in Scranton, PA. She entered the IHM Congregation on October 4, 1875, received the religious habit on April 25, 1876, and made profession of her vows on May 8, 1878.
She is preceded in death by two brothers, John and Michael.
She is survived by a sister, Margaret of Scranton, PA, nieces and nephews.
Interment is at the Marywood College Cemetery, on the grounds of Marywood College in Scranton, PA.
