Sister M. Flavia McDonald, IHM, of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary died on Friday, April 23, 1954, at St. Agnes Place in Elmhurst, PA.
She was born on August 10, 1907 in Wilkes-Barre, PA, and given the name Mary Cecilia. She was the Daughter of the late Myles and Mary Curley McDonald. She entered the IHM Congregation on September 8, 1936, received the religious habit on May 3, 1937, and made profession of her vows on May 8, 1939.
Sister Flavia served as a teacher at the following schools: St. Patrick School in Scranton, PA; St. Thomas Aquinas School in Archbald, PA; St. John the Evangelist School in Pittston, PA; and most recently at St. Paul School in Scranton, PA.
She is survived by a sister, Helen Mary West of Newark, NJ; two brothers, Joseph of Parsons, PA, and Ambrose, who is serving with the Army in Germany; nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be Monday, April 26, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Catherine’s Church in Moscow. Interment will follow at St. Catherine’s Cemetery, Moscow, PA.
