Sister M. Finian Beach, IHM

May 31, 1897 – July 1, 1970

Sister M. Finian Beach, IHM, of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary died on Wednesday, July 1, 1970.

She was born on May 31, 1897 in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania, and given the name Emma. She was the daughter of the late Maxwell K. and Anna Davis Beach. She entered the IHM Congregation on March 25, 1917, received the religious habit on August 2, 1917, and made profession of her vows on August 2, 1919.

Sister Finian served as a teacher in the following schools: St. Alphonsus Elementary School in New York City, NY; St. Rosalia Elementary School in Pittsburgh, PA; Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Elementary School in New York City, NY; St. John Elementary School in Scranton, PA; St. Joseph Elementary School in Williamsport, PA; St. Basil Elementary School in Dushore, PA; St. Joseph Elementary School in Renovo, PA; St. Bernard Elementary School in Hastings, PA; St. John Elementary School in Susquehanna, PA; and St. Paul Elementary School in Edgewood, RI.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Earl (infant) and Ralph.

She is survived by a sister, Sister M. Marcellina, IHM; nieces and nephews, including Sister M. Gillet Beach, IHM.

Interment is at St. Catherine’s Cemetery in Moscow, Pennsylvania.
