Archival Remembrance:
Sister M. Eleanor was an exceptionally fine teacher, having spent most of her religious life giving to her high school students some of her own mastery of the fundamentals in education. She also served the community creditably in her capacity of Superior in our schools in Scranton, New York, and Long Island. She was by nature neat and precise, and these qualities characterized her teaching and all her work. She will long be remembered for the atmosphere of religious politeness she spread around her. Her last eight years were spent at the Marian Convent, where taking her turn as Portress, she exemplified the religious lady. All who came were influenced by her courteous manner and her unfailing respect for others. Her religious life was no less circumspect. Her strict observance of our Holy Rule and Customs was most exacting and worthy of emulation. May her example of the perfect religious be a challenge to many to imitate her exact observance and her never failing courtesy. May God grant her eternal rest.
