Sister M. Clarice Reddon, IHM, of the Congregation of Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, died Saturday, March 10, 1990, at the Marian Convent in Scranton, PA.

She was born on June 22, 1926 in Susquehanna, PA, and given the name Helen. She was the daughter of the late Frank J. and Clara Montgomery Reddon. She entered the IHM Congregation on September 8, 1948, received the religious habit on May 9, 1949, and made profession of her vows on May 8, 1951.

Sister Clarice served as a science and math teacher at the following schools: Bishop O’Hara High School in Dunmore, PA; and St. John the Evangelist High School in Pittston, PA.

Sister served as principal at St. Rosalia High School in Pittsburgh, PA; St. Mary of the Mount High School in Pittsburgh, PA; and at several high schools in New York.

Sister Clarice also served as the parish social minister at St. Bonaventure Parish in Pittsburgh, PA.

From 1989 until the time of her death, Sister Clarice was a prayer minister at the Marian Convent.

She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in science from Marywood College, and a Master of Science degree in chemistry/biology from the University of Notre Dame.

She was preceded in death by an aunt, Sister Helen Maria Reddon, IHM.

She is survived by two sisters, Sister Francita Reddon, IHM, at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Convent in Dunmore, PA, and Elizabeth O’Malley of Montrose, PA; a brother, Robert F. of Susquehanna, PA; nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be Tuesday, March 13, at 10:30 a.m. with Mass of Christian Burial at the Marian Convent . Interment will follow at Saint Catherine’s Cemetery, Moscow, PA. Friends may call at the Marian Convent on Monday after 2:00 p.m.
