“Sister Bernadette, whose death was chronicled in the Times yesterday, was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Michael O’Boyle, who were among the pioneer residents of Scranton. She was one of the first sisters of St. Cecilia’s Convent to take vows and she illustrated by her life devoted to the service of God her fitness for her holy avocation. She had taught in all the more important academies of the diocese and was always most popular with pupils and the sisters of the order. Those who knew her in the world as Mary A. O’Boyle have kindly memories of her tenderness, amiability and kind and loving disposition and there is sincere regret at her death which happened in the height of her usefulness.

The funeral will take place tomorrow at 10 a.m. from St. Cecilia’s Academy. Solemn high requiem mass at St. Peter’s Cathedral. Interment in Hyde Park cemetery.”
