Sister M. Beatrice O’Neill, IHM, of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary died on Satursday, October 26, 1935, at St. Agnes Place in Elmhurst, PA.
She was born on September 9, 1863 in Mount Pleasant Township, PA, and given the name Anna. She was the daughter of the late John and Catherine Broderick O’Neill. She entered the IHM Congregation on September 29, 1882, received the religious habit on March 27, 1883, and made profession of her vows on April 6, 1885.
Sister Beatrice served as a music teacher at St. Rose Academy in Carbondale, PA; St. Cecilia Academy in Scranton, PA; and St. Patrick High School in Scranton, PA.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Charles, and three sisters, Elizabeth (infant), Catherine and Sister M. Aloysius O’Neill, IHM.
She is survived by two brothers, James of Carbondale, PA, and Paul of Pleasant Mount, PA; two sisters, Elizabeth C. McGraw of White’s Valley, PA, and Gertrude Kennedy of Binghamton, NY; nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be Tuesday, October 29, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Catherine’s Church in Moscow. Interment will follow at St. Catherine’s Cemetery in Moscow, PA. The Reverend J.J. O’Neill, Wilkes-Barre, a nephew will be celebrant of the mass.
