Sister M. Adrian Caveney, IHM, of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary died on Friday, May 31, 1946 at St. Agnes Place in Elmhurst, PA.
She was born on November 1, 1864 in Pleasant Mount, PA, and given the name Catherine. She was the daughter of the late Patrick and Mary Bridget Nallin Caveney. She entered the IHM Congregation on March 30, 1887, received the religious habit on October 4, 1887, and made profession of her vows on April 8, 1890.
Sister Adrian served as a domestic at St. Cecilia’s Convent in Exeter, PA; St. Joseph’s Convent in Williamsport, PA; St. Basil’s Convent in Dushore, PA; and St. John’s Convent in Scranton, PA.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Thomas P., John M., James J., and Patrick F.; and six sisters, Bridget F. Lavelle, Mary (Mame), Ella, Marie O’Donnell, Sister Mary Agatha, SSJ, and Cecilia (Celia).
She is survived by a sister, Sister Theresa, A.P.B. of Carmel of the Monastery of the Most Precious Blood in Brooklyn, NY; nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be Monday, June 3 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Catherine’s Church in Moscow, PA. Interment will follow at St. Catherine’s Cemetery, Moscow. Friends may call at St. Agnes Place on Sunday.
Note: some siblings spelled their last name as “Caveny.”
