Sister Gerald Marie Holleran, IHM, of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary died on Friday, January 24, 1936, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Carbondale, PA.
She was born on November 18, 1901 in Ashville, PA, and given the name Mary Margaret (Marguerite). She was the daughter of John and Eva Litzinger Holleran. She entered the IHM Congregation on August 14, 1922, received the religious habit on December 28, 1922, and made profession of her vows on December 29, 1924.
Sister Gerald Marie served as a teacher at Most Holy Rosary School in Syracuse, NY, and Immaculate Conception Elementary School in West Pittston, PA.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Patrick (infant) and Patrick.
In addition to her parents, she is also survived by six brothers, Howard J., Gerald A., Paul W., Regis, James and Joseph D.; four sisters, Anna Marie Domenick, Dorothy Kelly, Hilda Mary Morandi, and Rita Ann Craven; nieces and nephews, all of Ashville, PA.
The funeral will be Monday, January 27 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Catherine’s Church in Moscow, PA, followed by interment at St. Catherine’s Cemetery in Moscow. Friends may call on Sunday at St. Agnes Place in Elmhurst, PA.
