IHM Vocations Update

March 2026 Vocations Office Update

We, the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Congregation, Scranton, PA, have been so blessed over the years and especially this 180th Anniversary year to celebrate Sister Gio’s Final Profession and to welcome and accompany women discerning God’s call. Through the Come and See, Come and Be Weekends here at the IHM Center and in Sicuani, Peru, women have experienced our beautiful IHM Charism and vibrant community life through prayer, liturgy, community, Feast Day celebrations and service opportunities. It has been wonderful to also welcome youth and young adults to Our Lady of Peace Residence, Newton Lake and McCarty Hall with the Annunciation Community. Meeting students for dinner and conversation at Marywood University as well as praying with the Marywood Community at Sunday night Liturgy and Busy Persons Retreat has been truly a gift and blessing.

Sisters Gail and Rosie welcome Ava from Misericordia University to our Founders Day celebration.

We have planted many seeds over the years and continue today by nurturing these seeds and relationships inter-generationally, inter-culturally and inter-congregationally.

Below are some of the upcoming Vocation gatherings this month:

March 3 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. – Career Fair at Latour Room, Marywood University. You are most welcome to stop by our IHM table and visit with the students, faculty and staff.

March 15-19 – Busy Persons Retreat, Marywood University. Please pray for the Marywood students, faculty, staff and spiritual directors including Sisters Kieran Williams and Rachel Terry.

March 22 at 11:00 a.m. – Feast of St. Joseph Liturgy and celebration at the IHM Center.

March 31 – Visit with the Holy Redeemer High School Senior Class for their presentation of the Living Stations during Holy Week.

Lifelong Formation: “Our commitment invites us to love unconditionally and embrace a unity that rejoices in diversity.” IHM Constitutions # 50

May God and our Blessed Mother Mary continue to bless each one of us with renewed faith, hope and love for one another. May the joy and peace in our hearts and love for creation radiate God’s unconditional love for all. May our passion for the Eucharist and lived experiences of the Gospel give us the grace and strength we need to “walk humbly with our God” each day.
