Justice and Peace Update
IHM Sisters and Associates join others in prayer vigils, peaceful protests, and public gatherings.
As we continue living the journey to which our 2022-2026 IHM Direction Statement calls us, we IHM Sisters “intentionally engage in actions that reflect God’s unconditional love to all creation.” For many of us, it means standing with our most vulnerable sisters and brothers, speaking out against unjust government policies, and offering our world a sense of hope to our neighbors and our world.
IHM Sisters and Associates join others in prayer vigils, peaceful protests, and public gatherings to speak out against federal funding cuts for essential programs like Medicare, Medicaid, SNAP and to speak for Love of God and Love of neighbor.
The HANDS OFF Rallies on April 5 protested cuts to essential services as well as the treatment of refugees and asylum seekers.



The NO KINGS Rallies were held across the nation on June 14 as a response to the administration’s excessive executive orders.


WORLD REFUGEE DAY: Scranton recently held a celebration of World Refugee Day. IHM Associate Alejandra Marroquin, Sister Donna, Julie Schumacher Cohen, Daysi Carreto, and Jenny Gonzalez are among the many community members who served on the planning committee
