Archival Remembrance:

After her profession, Sister Estelle taught for two years at Saint Rose Academy, Carbondale. She was then transferred to Saint Michael’s School for Boys at Hoban Heights, where she spent forty-four fruitful years, teaching several grades and performing the many other tasks asked of our devoted Sisters at the boys’ school. But her very special task was the sacristy and the care of the beautiful sanctuary at Saint Michael’s. Second only to her joy in keeping the beauty of God’s house was her joy in showing its splendor to visitors. She was rightly proud of her care of all that pertained to His holy service. Hers was a life devoted to God and to our community.

Sister Estelle was a quiet, gentle Sister, humble in her own esteem, and kind in her relations with others. Her greatest joy was to be near Sister M. Margaretta, and their devotion to each other was most edifying. May God grant our dear Sister Mary Estelle eternal rest.
