Sister Mary Alberta Lea, IHM, of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary died on Thursday, January 12, 1893 at St. Rose’s Convent in Carbondale, Pennsylvania.
She was born on December 25, 1865 in Carbondale, Pennsylvania, and given the name Elizabeth. She was the daughter of the late James and Ann Fitzpatrick Lea. She entered the IHM Congregation on July 15, 1884, received the religious habit on April 6, 1885, and made profession of her vows on December 21, 1886.
Sister Mary Alberta served as teacher at St. John School in Pittston, PA, and at St. Patrick School in Scranton, PA.
Interment is at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery in Carbondale, Pennsylvania.
