Sister Marie Infanta Keenan, IHM

Sister Marie Infanta Keenan, IHM, of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary died on Wednesday, December 18, 1968 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Carbondale, Pennsylvania.
She was born on December 25, 1896 in Taylor, Pennsylvania, and given the name Marcella Margaret. She was the daughter of the late James and Alice McCarthy Keenan. She entered the IHM Congregation on March 31, 1922, received the religious habit on August 15, 1922, and made profession of her vows on August 15, 1924.
Sister Marie Infanta served as a teacher at the following schools: St. Alphonsus School in New York, NY; St. Joseph School in Renovo, PA; St. Thomas Aquinas Elementary School in Archbald, PA; St. Paul School in Edgewood, RI; St. Mary School in Goldsboro, NC; St. Mary John School in Cresson, PA; Our Lady of Good Counsel Elementary School in Inwood, RI; St. Thomas Regional School in Providence, RI; St. John the Evangelist School in Pittston, PA; St. Paul Elementary School in New Bern, NC; Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary School in New York, NY; St. John the Evangelist Elementary School in Scranton, PA; and Most Holy Rosary School in Syracuse, NY.
Sister also served as a catechetical teacher at St. Patrick’s Catechetical Center in Milford.
She is preceded in death by a sister, Helen and a brother, Joseph.
She is survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins of the McGraw family, including Mary (daughter of Thomas and Ann Keenan McGraw).
Interment is at St. Catherine’s Cemetery in Moscow, Pennsylvania.
