Sister M. Theodora Healey, IHM

Sister M. Theodora Healey, IHM, of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary died on Friday, June 24, 1955, at Mount St. Mary’s Motherhouse in Scranton, PA.
She was born on December 25, 1887 in Dunmore, PA, and given the name Mary. She was the daughter of the late Patrick and Margaret Loftus Healey. She entered the IHM Congregation on March 25, 1908, received the religious habit on July 16, 1908, and made profession of her vows on October 15, 1910.
Sister Theodora served as a teacher at the following schools: St. Patrick School in Scranton, PA; St. Peter Cathedral Chapel School in Scranton, PA; St. Cecilia School in Exeter, PA; St. Rosalia School in Pittsburgh, PA; St. Ephrem School in Brooklyn, NY; and Marywood Seminary in Scranton, PA.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, John, Martin and Reverend William Anthony; and two sisters, Sister Mary Perpetua, CSJ, and Sister M. Delphina, IHM.
She is survived by a sister, Margaret McAloon of Syracuse, NY, and a niece.
The funeral will be Tuesday, June 28 at 9:30 a.m. at Mount St. Mary’s Motherhouse in Scranton, followed by interment at St. Catherine’s Cemetery in Moscow, PA. Friends may call after 4:00 p.m. on Friday at St. Joseph’s Children’s and Maternity Hospital in Scranton.
