Below is a short prayer from Sister M. Myra’s funeral:

In this month dedicated to the Holy Souls, we are especially mindful of the devoted the Sister whom God recently called to Himself, Sister M. Myra. This beloved Sister had borne the burden of ill health for long years; and she lovingly awaited the call of her divine Spouse and judge.

In the doctrine of the Communion of Saints, heaven, earth, and purgatory form one great family, the Church. In the family of our Congregation, our deceased Sisters are our best beloved members. On them, let us lavish our fervent prayers and our generous acts of sacrifice. Above all, let us breathe their names in our memento for the dead, as we assist at the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. Our holy Mother, the Church, never forgets these Holy Souls. While these loved ones were with us, we spoke with them, and they spoke with us. They are our friends. Let us continue to speak to them now, and thus keep open the wall of separation that death has built between us and them. “They that have done good shall come forth unto resurrection of life.” God grant eternal rest to this dear Sister who has “gone before us with the sign of faith, and rest in the sleep of peace.”
