Sister M. Louis Mills, IHM

Sister M. Louis Mills, IHM, of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, died Friday, October 1, 1986, at the Marian Convent in Scranton, PA.
She was born on February 4, 1894 in Olyphant, PA, and given the name Margaret. She was the daughter of the late James and Bridget Kenehan Mills. She entered the IHM Congregation on August 2, 1915, received the religious habit on December 28, 1915, and made profession of her vows on January 3, 1918.
Sister Louis served as a math, science, languages and history teacher at the following schools: Laurel Hill Academy in Susquehanna, PA; St. John the Evangelist High School in Pittston, PA; St. Basil High School in Dushore, PA; St. Joseph High School in Williamsport, PA; Bishop Guilfoyle HIgh School in Altoona, PA; All Saints High School in Masontown, PA; Sacred Hearts High School in New York City, NY; and the IHM Academy in Coeur d’Alene, ID.
From 1971 until the time of her death, Sister Louis served as a prayer minister at the Marian Convent.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Sister M. Angelus Mills, IHM.
She is survived by several cousins.
The funeral will be Monday, August 4, at 9:30 a.m. with Mass of Christian Burial at the Marian Convent. Interment will follow at St. Catherine’s Cemetery, Moscow, PA. Friends may call at the Marian Convent on Sunday afternoon or evening.
