Sister M. John Dougherty, IHM, of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary died on Wednesday, October 16, 1929.
She was born on October 22, 1853 in Mahanoy City, Pennsylvania, and given the name Ellen. She was the daughter of the late James and Hannah Ketner Dougherty. She entered the IHM Congregation on September 8, 1875, received the religious habit on April 25, 1876, and made profession of her vows on May 8, 1878.
She is surivived by a sister, Sarah Crosby of Philadelphia, PA, and two nephews.
Interment is at St. Catherine’s Cemetery in Moscow, Pennsylvania.
