Sister M. Johann Davis, IHM, of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary died on Friday, December 16, 1938, at St. Agnes Place in Elmhurst, PA.
She was born on July 16, 1916, in New York City, NY, and given the name Margaret. She was the daughter of Margaret Moran Davis and the late John B. Davis. She entered the IHM Congregation on February 2, 1935, received the religious habit on August 2, 1935, and made profession of her vows on August 2, 1937.
Before her illness, Sister M. Johann served as a teacher at St. Raymond School in East Rockaway, NY.
In addition to her mother, she is also survived by a brother, John, and a sister, Anne, all of New York.
The funeral will be Monday, December 19 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Catherine’s Church in Moscow, PA, followed by interment at St. Catherine’s Cemetery in Moscow. Friends may call on Sunday after 2:00 p.m. at St. Agnes Place.
