Sister M. Janet Reap, IHM, of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary died on March 3, 1974 at the Marian Convent in Scranton, Pennsylvania.
Daughter of the late Anthony and Catherine Horan Reap, she was born on November 30, 1908 in Avoca, Pennsylvania; and given the name Mary Magdalen. She entered the IHM Congregation on September 8, 1931, received the religious habit on April 21, 1932, and made profession of her vows on April 24, 1934.
Sister Janet served as a teacher in the following schools: St. Paul Elementary School in Scranton, PA; Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Elementary School in New York, NY; Most Holy Rosary Elementary School in Syracuse, NY; St. Rosalia Elementary Schoolin Pittsburgh, PA; and Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Elementary School in Altoona, PA.
Form 1973 until the time of her death, she served as a prayer minister at the Marian Convent.
Interment will follow the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Catherine’s Cemetery in Moscow, Pennsylvania.
