Sister M. Janet Reap, IHM

Sister M. Janet Reap, IHM, of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary died on Sunday, March 3, 1974, at the Marian Convent in Scranton, PA.
She was born on November 30, 1908 in Avoca, PA, and given the name Mary Magdalen. She was the daughter of the late Anthony and Catherine Horan Reap. She entered the IHM Congregation on September 8, 1931, received the religious habit on April 21, 1932, and made profession of her vows on April 24, 1934.
Sister Janet served as a teacher in the following schools: St. Paul Elementary School in Scranton, PA; Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Elementary School in New York, NY; Most Holy Rosary Elementary School in Syracuse, NY; St. Rosalia Elementary School in Pittsburgh, PA; and Our Lady of Peace Elementary School in Clark’s Green, PA.
Form 1973 until the time of her death, Sister Janet was a prayer minister at the Marian Convent.
She is survived by a sister, Catherine Gilroy, and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be Wednesday, March 6, at 9:30 a.m. at the Marian Convent. Interment will be at St. Catherine’s Cemetery in Moscow, PA. Friends may call on Monday night and Tuesday at the Marian Convent.
