Sister M. Eustelle Burke, IHM, of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary died on Wednesday, March 30, 1949 at St. Ann’s Convent in Scranton, PA.
She was born on August 2, 1869 in Olyphant, PA, and given Mary Elizabeth. She was the daughter of the late William and Catherine Sweeney Burke. She entered the IHM Congregation on February 2, 1888, received the religious habit July 12, 1888, and made profession of her vows on July 20, 1890.
Sister Eustelle served as a teacher at St. Cecilia School in Exeter, PA; and St. Ann School in Scranton, PA.
She is survived by a sister, Margaret Burke of Scranton, PA.
The funeral will be on Saturday, April 2 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Ann’s Monastery Church, Scranton, followed by interment at St. Catherine’s Cemetery in Moscow, PA. Friends may call on Sunday at St. Ann’s Convent.
