Sister M. Cyrilla Kane, IHM, of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary died on Saturday, June 10, 1944, at Mercy Hospital in Scranton, PA.
She was born on April 6, 1872 in Dunmore, PA, and given the name Bridget. She was the daughter of the late Michael and Ann O’Malley Kane. She entered the IHM Congregation on February 2, 1894, received the religious habit on January 1, 1895, and made profession of her vows on February 2, 1897.
Sister Cyrilla served as a teacher at the following schools: St. Patrick School in White Haven, PA; Holy Rosary School in Scranton, PA; St. Joseph School in Williamsport, PA; and St. Patrick School in Scranton, PA.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, William and Austin.
She is survived by a brother, Daniel of Dunmore, PA; a sister, Mary Knight of Scranton, PA; nieces and nephews
The funeral will be Tuesday, June 13 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Church in Scranton, followed by interment at Cathedral Cemetery in Scranton. Friends may call on Monday at St. Patrick’s Convent in Scranton.
