Sister M. Concetta Yannone, IHM

Sister M. Concetta Yannone, IHM, of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary died on Saturday, May 2, 1936, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Convent in Altoona, PA.

She was born on April 2, 1912, in Naples, Italy, and given the name Philomena. She was the daughter of Joseph and Mariarosa (Mary Rose) Bucci Yannone. The family immigrated to the US, and settled in Susquehanna, PA. She entered the IHM Congregation on September 8, 1932, received the religious habit on April 24, 1933, and made profession of her vows on April 30, 1935.

Sister Concetta served as a teacher at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parochial School in Altoona, PA.

She was preceded in death by two infant brothers, Lugia and Nicola Antonio.

She is survived by three brothers, Philip of Fort Wayne, Indiana, John and Anthony, both of Susquehanna, PA; and two sisters, Lucy Persing and Adeline Semon, both of New York.

The funeral will be Wednesday, May 6, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Catherine’s Church in Moscow. Interment will follow at Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township, PA. Friends may call on Tuesday afternoon at St. Agnes Place, Elmhurst.
