Sister M. Christina Heyburn, IHM, of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary died on Satursday, May 8, 1926, at St. Mary’s Convent in Manhasset, NY.
She was born on November 26, 1898 in Ashley, PA, and given the name Mary Christine. She was the daughter of John and Lena Mines Heyburn. She entered the IHM Congregation on September 8, 1921, received the religious habit on December 29, 1921, and made profession of her vows on December 27, 1923.
Sister Christina served as a teacher at St. Mary Elementary School in Manhasset, NY.
In addition to her parents, she is also survived by two sisters, Catherine Heyburn and Elizabeth (Betty) Easter; three brothers, George, John and Joseph; aunts, uncles and cousins.
The funeral will be Tuesday, May 10 at St. Mary’s Church in Manhasset, NY, followed by interment at Calvary Cemetery in Woodside, NY.
