Sister M. Anacletus Murphy, IHM

Sister M. Anacletus Murphy, IHM, of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary died on Sunday, October 24, 1920, at Mount St. Mary’s Seminary in Scranton, PA.
She was born on May 8, 1881, in Liberty Township, PA, and given the name Mary C. She was the daughter of the late Michael and Catharine Laffey Murphy. She entered the IHM Congregation on September 8, 1906, received the religious habit on December 27, 1906, and made profession of her vows on April 13, 1909.
Sister Anacletus served as a domestic at several IHM convents.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Jeremiah E., and a sister.
She is survived by five brothers, Thomas L. and Michael of Geneva, NY, Joseph J. of Binghamton, NY, William J. of Buffalo, NY, and Martin F. of Canandaigua, NY; a brother-in-law, James E. Quinn of Meshoppen, PA; nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be Tuesday, October 26, at 9:30 a.m. at Mount St. Mary’s Seminary, followed by interment at the Marywood College Cemetery, on the grounds of Marywood College in Scranton, PA.
