Sister M. Aloysia Mulhern, IHM, of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary died on Friday, September 25, 1914, at Mount Saint Mary’s Seminary in Scranton, PA.
She was born on December 10, 1891 in Wilkes-Barre, PA, and given the name Genevieve C. She was the daughter of Green Francis and Sarah Durkin Mulhern. She entered the IHM Congregation on September 8, 1910, received the religious habit on August 2, 1911, and made profession of her vows on August 2, 1913.
Sister Aloysia served in child care for resident children at St. John’s Home in Cresson, PA.
In addition to her parents, she is also survived by three brothers, Raymond F., Thomas James, and George Anthony all of Wilkes-Barre, PA, and two sisters, Helen C. Mundy of Wilkes-Barre, PA, and Sister Mary Teresita Mulhern, RSM, stationed at St. Mary’s Convent in Wilkes-Barre, PA.
The funeral will be Monday, September 29, at 9:30 a.m. with a solemn high mass of requiem at Mount St. Mary’s Seminary. Interment to follow at the Marywood College Cemetery on the grounds of Marywood College in Scranton, PA.
