Sister M. Alison Reilly, IHM, of the Congregation of Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary died on Friday, July 12, 1991, at Mercy Hospital in Scranton, PA.

She was born on March 2, 1910, in Pittston, PA, and given the name Anna. She was a daughter of the late Henry and Alice Carden Reilly. She entered the IHM Congregation on September 8, 1934, received the religious habit on April 30, 1935, and made profession of her vows on May 3, 1937

Sister Alison served as a teacher at the following schools: South Scranton Catholic High School in Scranton, PA; Holy Rosary High School in Scranton, PA; and St. Mary High School in Manhasset, NY. She served as librarian at the following schools: Bishop Guilfoyle High School in Altoona, PA; St. Matthew Elementary School in East Stroudsburg, PA; and Notre Dame High School in East Stroudsburg, PA. Her most recent assignment was at Bishop Hannon High School in Scranton, PA.

Sister served as principal at Holy Rosary School in Scranton, PA.

She earned a Master of Science degree in education, a Bachelor of Science degree in library science, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in English, all from Marywood College.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Henry Jr., Thomas and Leo.

She is survived by a sister, Mary Reilly of Pittston, PA, and a nephew, Henry Reilly, III.

The funeral will be Monday, July 15, at 10:00 a.m. with Mass of Christian Burial at the Marian Convent in Scranton. Interment will follow at St. Catherine’s Cemetery, Moscow, PA. Friends may call at the Marian Convent on Sunday afternoon or evening.
