What are Native Plants?

A plant is considered native if it has occurred naturally in a particular area without human introduction

Why Plant Native Wildflowers?

  • Adapted to local environmental conditions they require less water, help prevent erosion, reduce runoff and flooding.
  • Don't require fertilizers and require fewer pesticides than lawns.
  • Sequester, or remove, carbon from the air.
  • Provide shelter and food for wildlife.
  • Promote biodiversity and stewardship of our Earth.
  • Provide beautiful scenic views for us to enjoy!
