Sister M. Pierre Connell, IHM

Sister M. Pierre Connell, IHM, of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary died on Thursday, April 13, 1922, at St. Rose’s Convent in Carbondale, PA.
She was born on October 4, 1876, in Wilkes-Barre, PA, and given the name Teresa. She was the daughter of the late Frank Thomas and Mary Catherine Connell. She entered the IHM Congregation on September 8, 1903, received the religious habit on December 31, 1903, and made profession of her vows on December 28, 1905.
Sister Pierre served as a teacher at St. Bernard Parochial School in Hastings, PA, and St. Rose Academy in Carbondale, PA.
She was preceded in death by a brother, James.
She is survived by six sisters, Sister Mary Amandus, IHM, Sister M. Leonard, IHM, Claire Lenahan, Margaret Seymour, Anna Connell and Loretta Connell, two brothers, Thomas and Joseph Aloysius, nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be Saturday, April 15 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Church in Carbondale, PA. Interment will follow in St. Rose of Lima Cemetery in Carbondale.
