Sr Elizabeth DeMerchant's First Profession of Vows

Dear Sisters,

With gratitude, I thank the congregation for the opportunity to deepen my prayer and to study theology and the IHM history during my time of formation. My volunteer experiences provided me the opportunity to learn about the IHM missions as well as to develop a world view in my prayer. Thank you to all those who have opened their homes and missions to me as well as those who have taught me classes or served as a formation director.

As Mary our loving model said “Yes” to the mystery of God, in joy and gratitude I too say yes. I invite you to join me in the celebration of the Eucharist on the occasion of my First Profession of Vows, Saturday, July 28 at 11 a.m. in the IHM Center Chapel. The liturgy will be followed by dinner in the Theresa Maxis Center. Please RSVP to communications@sistersofihm.org by July 1, 2018, and indicate whether you will attend the liturgy, the dinner or both.

In scripture, Elizabeth was a woman of great hope. When all hope was lost, she believed that nothing was impossible for God. I have come to learn that saying yes to God is a journey. I believe that sisters are an image of hope in our beautiful, yet wounded world. I am honored to have had the opportunity to grow with all of the sisters I have encountered. I look forward to moving into our unknown and shared future together. Your example, wisdom, support and prayers are appreciated.

Your Sister in Christ, Sister Elizabeth Ann DeMerchant
