Sister Kevin Maria McMullen, IHM

Sister Kevin Maria McMullen, IHM, of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary died on Thursday, November 29, 1979, at the Marian Convent in Scranton, Pennsylvania, after an extended illness.

She was born on April 3, 1903 in Altoona, Pennsylvania, and given the name Marion C. She was the daughter of the late Hilarion and Ida Nagle McMullen. She entered the IHM Congregation on September 7, 1924, received the religious habit on December 29, 1924, and made profession of her vows on August 15, 1926.

Sister Kevin Maria served as a teacher at the following schools: St. Joseph Elementary School in Renovo, PA; St. Mary Elementary School in Hollidaysburg, PA; St. John the Evangelist Elementary School in Bellefonte, PA; Epiphany Elementary School in Sayre, PA; St. John Elementary School in Susquehanna, PA; St. Michael's School for Boys in Hoban Heights, PA; St. Mary's Home in Cresson, PA; as well as at elementary schools located in Pittsburgh, PA.

She was preceded in death by four  brothers, Earl John, Ray, Edgar Joseph and Gerald Francis, and a sister, Orvetta Behe.

She is survived by a brother, Irvin of Braddock, PA, four sisters, Fidella Kelly of York, PA, Beatrice Wertz of Wilmerding, PA, Evelyn McFarland of Nalcrest, FL, and Genevieve Ward of Palm Harbor, FL, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The funeral will be Monday, December 3 with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in the Marian Convent Chapel. Interment will follow  at St. Catherine's Cemetery, Moscow, Pennsylvania. Friends may call at the Marian Convent on Sunday afternoon and evening.
