Sister M. Mildred O'Toole, IHM

Sister M. Mildred O'Toole, IHM, of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary died on Saturday, September 4, 1976 at the Marian Convent in Scranton, Pennsylvania.

She was born on July 8, 1893, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and given the name Margaret Mildred. She was the daughter of the late Martin W. and Anna Cunningham O'Toole. She entered the IHM Congregation on February 2, 1932, made first profession of her vows on August 2, 1934, and made final profession of her vows on August 2, 1937.

Sister Mildred served as a teacher in the following schools: Holy Rosary Elementary School in Scranton, PA; St. Joseph Elementary School in Williamsport, PA; St. Alphonsus Elementary School  in New York, NY; St. Charles Borromeo Elementary School in Sugar Notch, PA; and Monsignor McHugh Elementary School in Cresco, PA.  

From 1970 until the time of her death, Sister Mildred served as a prayer minister at the Marian Convent.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Bertha (infant) and Catherine Horan, and a brother, William E.

She is survived by a sister, Sister Maria Aquina, IHM of Avoca, PA, a brother, John F. "Ollie" and a sister-in-law, Mildred, of Hollywood, CA, and nieces.

Interment is at St. Catherine’s Cemetery in Moscow, Pennsylvania.
