Sister M. Corona McDonald, IHM

Sister M. Corona McDonald, IHM, Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, died on Saturday, June 30, 1979 at the Marian Convent in Scranton, Pennsylvania, after a lengthy illness.

She was born on September 10, 1902 in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, and given the name Annie.  She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret Lenahan McDonald. She entered the Congregation on October 19,1921, received the religous habit on December 29, 1921, and pronounced vows on December 27 1923.

Sister Corona served as a teacher at the following schools: Most Holy Rosary School in Syracuse, NY; St. Dominic School in Oyster Bay, NY; St. Peter of Alcantara School in Port Washington, NY; St. Joseph School in Williamsport, PA; St. Leo School in Ashley, PA; St. Paul School in Edgewood, RI; St. Ambrose School in Bridgeport, CT; and at schools located in Pittsburgh and Scranton, PA, and Baltimore, MD.

She is survived by an aunt, Mrs. John J. Green of Wilkes-Barre, PA, and several cousins.

The funeral will be Tuesday, July 3, at the Marian Convent with Mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Catherine's Cemetery, Moscow Pennsylvania. Friends may call Monday afternoon and evening at the Marian Convent.
