Sister M. Coronata McNulty, IHM
Sister M. Coronata McNulty, IHM, of the Congregation of Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, died Monday, January 28, 1991, at the Marian Convent in Scranton, Pennsylvania, after an illness.
She was born on October 2, 1901 in Scranton, Pennsylvania, and given the name Margaret. She was the daughter of the late Anthony and Mary Agnes Walsh McNulty. She entered the IHM Congregation on September 8, 1925, received the religious habit on December 28, 1925, and made profession of her vows on December 27, 1927.
Sister Coronata served as a teacher at the following schools: St. John the Evangelist High School in Scranton, PA; St. John the Evangelist High School in Pittston, PA; St. Patrick High School in Scranton, PA; St. John High School in Susquehanna, PA; St. Joseph High School in Renovo, PA; as well as schools located in Pittsburgh, PA, New York, and Maryland.
From 1974 until the time of her death, Sister Coronata served as a prayer minister at the Marian Convent.
She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in education from Marywood College, and a Master of Arts degree in education from Columbia University. She also attained a certificate in theology, and took courses in librarianship.
She is preceded in death by two brothers, James and Jerome, and two sisters, Jane McNulty and Clare Carroll.
She is survived by a sister, Sister M. Terentia McNulty, IHM of Scranton, PA, nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be Friday, February 1 with Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in the Marian Convent chapel. Interment will follow at St. Catherine's Cemetery, Moscow, Pennsylvania. Friends may call at the Marian Convent on Thursday afternoon or evening.

Sister Coronata was a person with a very happy disposition and a very good outlook on life. Her intelligence was used to help her students to develop fully their potential. Through her prayer life, she helped others grow in their love of God.
