Sister Mary Kevin Nagle, IHM
Sister Mary Kevin Nagle, IHM, of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary died on Saturday, February 13, 1965.
She was born on November 25, 1896 in Patton, Pennsylvania, and given the name Beatrice. She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Catherine O'Hara Nagle. She entered the IHM Congregation on September 7, 1916, received the religious habit on August 2, 1917, and made profession of her vows on August 2, 1919.
Sister Mary Kevin served as a teacher at the following schools: St. Paul Elementary School in Scranton, PA, from 1916 to 1917; St. Joseph High School in Spokane, WA, from 1919 to 1921; IHM Academy High School in Coeur d'Alene, ID, from 1921 to 1935 and 1949 to 1955; and Marywood Seminary High School in Scranton, PA, from 1935 to 1949 and 1955 to 1964.
Sister served as principal at the IHM Academy High School in Coeur d'Alene, ID, 1949 to 1955.
She also served as directress of Marywood Seminary in Scranton, PA, from 1955 to 1964.
From 1964 until the time of her death, Sister Mary Kevin served as a prayer minister.
Interment is at St. Catherine’s Cemetery in Moscow, Pennsylvania.

Archival Remembrance:
The death of our dear Sister Mary Kevin Nagle brought sorrow to thousands who had known an loved her. The last four years of her life were marked with great suffering and weakness. Those who witnessed her brave efforts to continue her good work in Marywood Seminary were deeply touched by her heroic efforts to "carry on" as she had so generously done in her good days. Twenty-three years of her religious life were spent in two of our western missions, where she served so well and is so fondly remembered. Twenty-seven years at Marywood as resident student, teacher and principal, endeared her to all. Her students revered her, and they sorrowed with her as they saw her lose strength and vigor. She was an outstanding religious educator. May God abundantly reward this valiant Sister who labored so generously for our congregation, and suffered so much in her dedicated service to God and to His children.
