Sister M. Michael Donnelly, IHM

Sister M. Michael Donnelly, IHM, Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, died on June 16, 1979 at the Marian Convent in Scranton, Pennsylvania, after an extended illness.

She was born on June 6, 1905 in Scranton, Pennsylvania, and was the daugther of the late William and Mary Sullivan Donnelly.  She entered the Congregation on September 2, 1927, received the holy habit on December 28, 1927, and made profession of her vows on December 27, 1929.

Sister Michael served as a teacher at the following schools: Most Holy Rosary School in Syracuse, NY; St. Dominic School in Oyster Bay, NY; St. Mary School in Avoca, PA; as well as schools located in Williamsport, Scranton, and Kingston, PA.

Sister Michael also served on the support staff at St. Joseph's Hospital in Carbondale, PA.

She is survived by a sister, Anna Gilroy of Binghamton, New York, and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be Monday, June 18 with Mass at 10:30 a.m. in the Marian Convent. Interment will follow at St. Catherine's Cemetery, Moscow, Pennsylvania. Friends may call at the Marian Convent Sunday afternoon and evening.
