Sister M. Stanislaus O'Donnell, IHM

Sister M. Stanislaus O'Donnell, IHM, of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary died on Friday, September 13, 1974 at the Marian Convent in Scranton, Pennsylvania.

She was born on September 12, 1888 in Scranton, Pennsylvania, and given the name Grace Marie. She was the daughter of the late Michael B. and Bridget Mulqueen O'Donnell. She entered the IHM Congregation on March 25, 1918, received the religious habit on August 5, 1918, and made profession of her vows on August 2, 1920.

Sister Stanislaus served as a teacher in the following schools: St. John School in Susquehanna, PA; St. Alphonsus School in New York, NY; St. Rose School in Carbondale, PA; St. John the Evangelist School in Pittston, PA; St. Mary of the Mount School in Pittsburgh, PA; St. Ann School in Nyack, NY; and St. Dominic School in Oyster Bay, NY. 

From 1971 until the time of her death, Sister Stanislaus served as a prayer minister at the Marian Convent.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Michael F. and Joseph P., and a sister Hannah.

She is survived by nieces and nephews.

Interment is at St. Catherine’s Cemetery in Moscow, Pennsylvania.
